One of the highest lookout towers in Germany was built in Schömberg in the northern Black Forest. The tower, known as “Himmelsglück”, is 55 m high and allows a view from the top platform, which in good weather extends to the Swabian Alb and the Vosges.
The landmark, visible from afar, consists of a hybrid structure made of steel and wood. All steel components were hot dip galvanized for longevity and complement the timber frame.
