The 486 m high rock plateau of the Sonnenstein offers unique views that extend as far as the southern Harz and Kyffhäuser, Germany. Recently, a spectacular viewing platform has been added that pushes itself into the quiet expanse.
The supporting structure of the 14 m long walkway is a hot dip galvanized and painted steel structure. The floor and railing of the footbridge were made with laminated safety glass. As a result, the ground literally dissolves under your feet after a few steps and you stand freely in the middle of nature, more than 100 m above the valley floor.
