Issue#01—2012

For a long while nothing much seems to change with this august publication and then, just like London buses, several things come along at once. The most noticeable is the new layout, which we hope you will find attractive and easy to read.

The second change is the launch of an iPad version of the magazine, which you may find more convenient than the paper version. The article on the left has all the details of how to download the iPad edition.

The last change is that this is my final editorial before I retire from Galvanizers Association. Looking back I remember in 1990, not long after I had joined GA, visiting our colleagues in Germany to discuss joining their magazine joint venture. The first edition came out that autumn and I have been involved, one-way or another, with every edition since then.

So, it is very pleasing to sign-off with the magazine continuing to develop and setting itself up for the next 20 years. And what was my most memorable moment during this time? Receiving a phone call from the production company that makes Have I Got News For You asking for permission to feature us in their Nerds Magazine of The Week slot!
